Safe Elk

This was taken just before rifle season opened. I counted at least 40 elk on the Valley Floor that day, and I have seen as many as 80 out closer to the Shell Station.  They are safe from hunters as long as they stick around here!! That is a young bull grazing almost in the center of the top photo.

My husband did have a successful hunting weekend farther west, a nice sized bull that will fill our deep freezer.
