Hey I really enjoy your pictures of Telluride. My great grandmother was born there, probably near the property now known as Cushman Lake. The lake was known as Chautauqua Lake many years ago. I wish I knew exactly why the name changed. Though, I feel it is named after my great great grandfather who owned the property and turned it into a day vacation spot for Telluride residents back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. His ad in the Telluride journal said, "Chautauqua Lake, Eight miles from Telluride. Three miles from Ophir Loop. Fishing, boating, and refreshments. Fine dancing pavilion and picnic ground on one of the finest mountain driveways in the state." Sounds like a nice place! If you ever find yourself out in that area I'd love some pictures of the lake and the area where it is located. :)

I don't have any photos of that lake, but surely I can take some this summer. I found a few photos by Googling Cushman Lake, Telluride.
