Porcupines Everywhere, Remembering Stickers

There have been a lot of porcupines around the ski area this winter. This one is actually the second I saw in a tree along lift 7 on Tuesday, and he was waaaaaay up there! I didn't realize how high porcupines would climb. We also heard of a couple porcupines that were running across a ski run that day.

Of course none of these porcupines are as exciting to see as Stickers was, the porcupine that was relocated by the forest service a couple of years ago.

Wow. I am stunned that you didn't get hit with a lot of spines.

Porcupines are interesting critters. I'm glad the skier in the second photo didn't get a legful of quills!

Stickers had become quite tame, much like the porcupines they let kids pet in the zoos. People were feeding him all kinds of food that were bad for him, too, which eventually led to him being relocated.

I've never seen a tame porcupines, but lots of dead on the roads. I've heard that their teeth are sharp, so beware.
