Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is near Montrose and a less than two hour drive from Telluride. This is the view from the Warner Point Nature Trail.

Awesome! Haven't been there in 35+ years. Need to go on my list.

I spent the night down in the bottom of the Black Canyon in June of 1998. It was incredible! We didn't sleep well because we thought Sascquatch was throwing boulders down in the water. After asking a Ranger, we were told "Sascquatch" was likely only a beaver uncomfortable with our chosen campsite...lol. Good times.
