North Oak House

The North Oak House is another one of my favorite Telluride homes. This one has appeared on my blog before as it is on the list in the Historic Walking Tour which you can find by clicking on my "History" label. The North Oak House was built in 1900 and managed to survive the Cornet Creek flood of 1914. Cornet Creek continues to be a concern and flooded some houses as recent as July 2007. This house has been restored to its original condition and is on the National Register of Historic Homes.

I thought I would start off my Victorian Homes Series with one of my favorites on the east end of town. There will be several more homes that I call one of my favorites!

Poppies and Aspen Leaves

Most of the aspen leaves are on the ground now, and it is the off-season again in Telluride. I missed a week of posting photos here again! I was unsure of what to post during the uneventful off-season and then I realized I've never posted a series of the homes here. Tomorrow I will start a series on the Victorian homes in town. Living in a town of only 2,000 people makes for a difficult place to do a daily photo, but I think everyone enjoys a Victorian home!

I truly enjoy being outdoors and taking photos, but I don't enjoy the time it takes at the computer for photography. I still can't make up my mind if I want to get a DSLR or the Sony NEX-5. I could still take a NEX-5 hiking and skiing so I'm leaning toward that. For now, my little Sony will have to do.

Rebuilding Baked in Telluride

To answer the many questions I'm asked on my blog and through e-mail, Baked in Telluride is coming back! I plan to take photos to update everyone on the progress until it is finished, which will hopefully be in time for the Bluegrass Festival next year!
