Enchanted Forest

This is my youngest daughter skiing through the trees of the Enchanted Forest.

Well ski season is over for me! I think I am going to take a two to three week break from blogging. We are going to spend time with family for spring break. After this Sunday, it will be the off-season in Telluride until Memorial Day weekend. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

One of My Favorites

I have posted photos from this spot before, but you can't beat the view from the top of lift 12 of Lizard Head Peak, Mt. Wilson, El Diente and Wilson Peak.

This is the children's area inside Telluride Eco-Adventures. The ski area sets up all kinds of outdoor activities inside this shop.

Get in Line

Telluride is famous for having virtually no lift lines. This is the worst line I have waited in to get on lift 7 first thing in the morning. The ski areas closer to Denver can have lines with a 30 minute wait or longer just to get on a lift! There are benefits to living in a remote destination location. The Southwest is where its at!

The Queen

I took this on Polar Queen earlier this week. The Sheridan Headwall is on the right, which was Wednesday's photo. Looks a bit steeper from this point of view.

SkyWatch Friday: Same Skies, Different Clouds

A couple of snowboarders were enjoying the view of Wilson Peak, while a family started their day with a photo by Elevation Imaging.

We have had a couple of feet of new snow this week to welcome the spring break tourists. It really does feel like spring here with the sun staying up so much longer, well our version of spring anyway!

I caught Helitrax taking off from the Peaks the other Day. Telluride Helitrax is Colorado's only helicopter ski company.

SkyWatch Friday: Palmyra Skies

The photo above was taken by my husband during his hike up Palmyra Peak on Tuesday.

Palmyra Peak seen from the top of lift 5.

There was a glider soaring around Palmyra on Monday. I watched it for a really long time and took a lot of photos.

The glider is in this photo. If you click to enlarge this, you may be able to see it straight above the skier wearing the blue and black jacket, the skier that is kind of dark right in front of the trees.

One Cat Open Sleigh

This is the sleigh that is drawn by snowcat up to Gorrono Ranch on Wednesday evenings for dinner on the mountain. I've never done this before, but it seems like a fun vacation-y type of thing to do!

Palmyra Peak

My husband and our friend hiked and skied Palmyra Peak yesterday. Palmyra's elevation is 13,251 feet and is Telluride's amazing in bounds hike to mountain that takes around 2 hours to hike to the top to ski the extreme terrain runs.

There are some people standing at the top just right of center in this photo. You can click on the photo to see the larger version.

My World Tuesday: One Month

Ski season ends April 4. Only one month and two days are left! It seems like I start skiing better and get braver right in time for the season to end. The nice thing is that after the ski lifts close, our schools close for a two week spring break.

This photo was taken yesterday from lift 9.
