Avalanche
There was a natural slide on Ajax late yesterday. It took out a few trees but didn't injure anyone or damage any buildings, thank goodness! However, it did cause everyone in town to be excited and run out into the streets to watch it and take photos.

How beautiful and frightening at the same time! Is Telluride in danger from avalanches? If so, I hope you have avalanche insurance! ;-)
I bet that one was pretty exciting to see!
The San Juan mountains are one of the most avalanche-prone areas in the world, but the homes in town really aren't in avalanche paths. However, they do controlled avalanches in the ski area and around the town of Ophir. It's not unusual for an avalanche to block Ophir residents in for a few days at a time.
Wow. That is so intersting. What a picture. How loud was it?
I was too far away to hear it!
I have only seen one. I was stunned by its' silence.
It must be an awesome thing to see for real, but I am very glad that no one was hurt!
Glad there was no damage or injuries!
I am super bummed I missed it.
