I guess these summer Telluriders decided to stay for the winter. They seem to be pretty tough and have been causing havoc all over town, running around parked cars, getting in traffic, quacking at dogs. I bet they acted like last night's two hour power outage didn't even bother them.
The rock wall made it difficult to take a picture of this shop, so please excuse the fact that I didn't get a picture of the entire front door. Telluride Naturals is a new shop in which all of the merchandise was made in southwest Colorado. It is located in Mountain Village near the new ice rink and the Capella Hotel. It smells wonderful inside, too!
The new Resort Store has lots of merchandise in this tiny shop, and all of it says "Telluride." The only thing I didn't find is a Telluride thimble. We look for those every time my mother-in-law is here visiting. Still no luck finding one!
I'll be away from the computer for a few days, but I have scheduled daily photos until I return!
Lindsey Jacobellis took first place for the Snowboardcross Cup here on Sunday with her teammate 17-year-old Faye Gulini. Off to the Olympics they go! Lindsey is the one in blue pants.
The USSA Boardercross World Cup will be on NBC Sunday (tomorrow) morning. 
I took some photos when we were out on Christmas Eve. Main street is very pretty at night around Christmas.
There are gingerbread houses inside the cases from the contest held on Noel Night.

Mountain Village is a busy place again thanks to the Snowboard World Cup and Christmas break. Most of the people we have met have been really nice families from Texas. I guess this is a Texans in Telluride Christmas!
The Hope Garden is the hoppin place to be apparently. Every time I have been by there has been a line just to get in for a patio or indoor seat.

It seems decadent that I live high in the mountains in a small town and I am within walking distance of a wonderful Thai restaurant. Unfortunately Siam won't be serving lunch anymore after today. I suppose there are too many people eating lunch on the mountain during ski season.
The blizzard in Telluride earlier this week brought us close to 2 feet of much needed snow. The sky was white as the snow came down and blew around. The photo above is of the flags in front of the high school.
The ski resort is reporting 11 inches of new snow so far, and we are still under a blizzard warning!
I was recently looking for this photo that I took a couple of years ago and now I can't remember what I needed it for. I thought I should share it here! I liked the dark bike path leading into town and the cool clouds.
The moon has been glorious this week! At times like these I really wish I had a better camera. This was taken at the side of highway 62 (aka Dallas Divide) Tuesday.
I'm sure The Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa is a wonderful place to stay, but I have to admit that no matter how they paint it, it looks like a hospital to me. If it was pink, it would definitely resemble St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa where I had my oldest daughter.
The December City Daily Photo Theme Day is "Waiting," and it's also My World Tuesday! There is one thing we are all waiting for here in Telluride, real snow. Thank goodness for snow machines that make it possible to have a few ski runs open, but it would be nice if there would be enough real snow to open the entire mountain.
As you can see, the snow machines are going full force, but it's just not the same as the real stuff! Also, December 17-20 the Snowboard World Cup will be held in Telluride, which is a very big deal, so everyone please *THINK SNOW.*
