My World Tuesday

One of the busiest places in town undeniably is the post office. Telluride is so small that we don't have home delivery, so everyone has a post office box. I think we have the nicest post office employees around!

I had no idea there were places that didn't have home delivery for mail! WoW!

Look at those MOUNTAINS in the background!

I bet its a local gathering point where you run into friends.

Maybe your post office employees could come do a seminar for my post office employees!

Small town post offices are a good place to meet the neighbors. Even community mailboxes work well for that. It is not unusual to see 5 or 6 neighbors gathered around the one in front of our house.

This is a delightful shot, Lisa. Very well composed with the mountains in the background and the colors are magnificent.

The thing is, it doesn't look very busy at the moment.

It's hard to imagine no home delivery. What is the population of Telluride?

How nice! I've had a post office box for years and I love it. It's safer and you never have to worry about stopping the mail when you go out of town.

My wintering town of Yarnell, AZ is like that and it's the place to greet folks and catch up on what's happening.

Jacob, I took this photo around noon on Sunday! So it definitely wasn't busy then. Telluride's population is about 2,200. Up in Mt. Village they have a year-round population of about 1,000.

I didn't know really small towns didn't have mail delivery. Great building for everyone to socialize once in a while during the mail collection. Great mountain view, and I like the flag flying against the blue sky.
