Hmmmm. It's FUN if you like being scared! At least you have a regular jeep; my brother takes his suburban. Okay, so it has 4WD, but it's still sooooo not normal. I honestly don't think he could make these switchbacks; then again, he'd find a way.
Did you hike this or do it in a jeep? I know people do both. We were in Ouray and Telluride a couple weeks ago and did the Alpine Loop and Imogene Pass. Such beauty!! We try to visit at least once every summer. But I'll have to enjoy Black Bear Pass vicariously through your photos and YouTube. We won't be driving that one!
Originally the location for a summer camp by Ute Indians, then a mining camp called Columbia, Telluride became a town in 1878. This remote town in the San Juan Mountains became part of the National Historic Landmark District in 1964, and later became a destination ski resort. There are many year-round activities to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of the mountains, and after only one visit to Telluride, it will become a part of you forever.
All of the photographs on this blog were taken by me unless otherwise noted. If you would like to use any of these, please contact me at mtsrool@gmail.com. Thanks!
Welcome to my blog! I live in beautiful Telluride, Colorado with my husband and three kids. I started blogging for family and friends to keep up with what we have been doing and it has kind of turned into an on-line diary for myself also full of my favorite photos.

I never knew there were even roads like this until I started reading your blogs Lisa. It's pretty scary to me, but I might be willing to try it!
You do this in a Jeep? And live to tell about it?
That first shot is leaving me a little breathless! Yikes!!
You're a braver soul than I!

Another white-knuckler! Of course, I'm a big chicken -- step ladders make me nervous.

We drove it, actually twice last week! We have a 2008 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited.
Oh no! No way. I'll get out and walk, thank you. Very slowly and carefully. Meet you in town!
That first one looks a little tricky the path.
