SkyWatch Friday

Just as we were leaving Wilson Meadows on our hike earlier this week, I noticed a strange sort of backlit rainbow in the clouds to the left of Lizard Head Peak. I played with the color saturation in the second photo just for fun to bring out the rainbow.

To see more beautiful skies all over the world, please visit SkyWatch Friday.

Nice shot...I like both versions...I saw the color right away in the first...Lizard Head Peak looks very cool...and a beautiful sky to go with it.

How cool you caught that rainbow.

Lizard Peak is truly great little spiky peak. That must be some kind of halo phenomenon as it appears on the direction of the sun, unlike rainbows which appear on the other side than the sun.
