Telluride Chicago-Style

The Diggity Dogs stand is a local's favorite stop for a Chicago-style hot dog. I like to eat the Frito pie at their Mountain Village location for lunch when we're skiing.

Frito Pie? What might that be?

A bit different from the Haninge version that I tested last week. But pie for lunch when skiing sounds perfect.

A Frito pie is basically just a bowl of chili with Fritos in it, and whatever other toppings desired like cheese, mustard, onions, jalapenos, etc.

I know not Frito Pie either...but sounds good. It's nice when food is easy available like this for a quick snack!

A hot dog always tastes better outside for some reason (such as at a baseball game).

Thx for visiting my blog yesterday.

That Frito pie sounds like a dish I used to make for my kids called Frito casserole--alternating layers of Fritos, chili, cheese, onions, etc. and then baking it until it bubbles on the edges. The pie version sounds yummy!
