Butch Cassidy Reenactment

Yesterday at high noon a Butch Cassidy bank robbery reenactment was held in front of Appaloosa Trading Company, the original site of the San Miguel Valley Bank. Butch's first bank robbery was in Telluride on June 24, 1889. The reenactment took place as part of the Telluride Heritage Festival, which teamed up Saturday with the Wild West Fest.

I don't know about the real thing, and I don't think Butch Cassidy looks much like Paul Newman, but I sure did like the movie so many years ago!

And I wasn't aware that your town was so famous! First bank robbery!

I didn't realize Butch cassidy's first escapade was in Telluride. Every little town in Utah tries to claim they were robbed or had some tie with Butch.
