Woods Lake

Up at Woods Lake yesterday there were a few signs of spring, but not on the aspen trees!

Sometimes it must seem like Spring will never arrive.

I bet that water is pretty cold too!

Spring will come there, too. Is this a fishing lake?

Yes, good fishing spot! Also there are a lot of places to camp.

Very pretty lake -- I see that carpet of snow over yon!

With the snow gone, aspen leaves can't be far behind.

Spring is coming! Either that or it will just be summer all of a sudden.

It will come soon. Great shot, I like the snow and sky background.

Good - a lot of your snow has melted. We still have quite a bit in Breckenridge!

Still looks like winter up there. The aspens in my yard are full of leaves. Good to see green again.

Love your blog, come to Telluride from Colo Spgs every summer but have never heard of this lake. Can you explain how to get there? Thanks!

Hey Mare! Here are directions. It's really easy to find:

Directions: From Telluride, travel west/northwest on Hwy 145 for 12 miles through Sawpit; turn south on the Falls Creek Road (Forest Road 618) and continue on this road for 8 miles.

The pavement does end on that road a few miles before the lake, but it's a pretty decent dirt road and 4-wheel drive is not necessary.

Hey Thanks Lisa! I've been on Falls Creek Road but maybe I never went far enough! I will check it out this July when I make my annual trip! Thanks!
