I still haven't had a chance to get out with my new camera since it was delivered at the beginning of my work week, so I pulled up an older photo of the ghost town of Alta. In the distance stands Lizard Head Peak and Mt. Wilson and Wilson Peak on the right.

What a place this would be to have a home with a picture window looking out on the scene you shot. Nice.
Do any buildings remain? I have some great photos of an old barn and an old house from up there. Of course, they were taken about 18 years ago.
Yes, Sharon, there are still some buildiings standing up there. I think they were kind of behind me where I was taking this photo.
I bet you can't wait to have a chance to use your new camera!! Another learning curve, but, then, that's what life is all about.
A lovely spot, I do love the mountains. We stopped briefly in Telluride many years ago. The hiking season is so brief at these elevations that I try to spend as much time as possible in the mountains in summer.
Love ghost towns, old abandoned houses, abandoned mines...this looks like my kind of place...can you dig around here?
Very nice photo. Nature wins out over civilization once again.
