The Law

The stone jail is said to have been built in 1885 by a livery stable owner. It went from a jail to being the public library for a few years, and is now back as a jail/holding cell for the Telluride Marshal's Department.

They did a good job of making LOOK like a jail..I suppose to remind people who see it to obey the law.

I'm not really sure what this says about crime in Telluride. it's nice that they're repurposing buildings instead of tearing them down. It looks good and solid.

Unlike for BD, I don't think it looks like a jail at all. Not with that gorgeous stone anyway. Very, very different from our sorry-looking jails.
