Lift 7

The base of Lift 7, one of the original ski lifts built in Telluride. It's a 2-person chair lift that has been described as "rickety" more than once by our local newspaper. It is a fun ride up to the top of the mountain during ski season.

Bear Creek Preserve

The trailhead to the Bear Creek Preserve is on the edge of town on South Pine. The preserve offers an easy hike in the summer and back country skiing in the winter. If you're lucky (or unlucky) you might even spot a black bear.

Black Bear Sighting

Telluride Gondola

This is a Telluride gondola cabin coming into the St. Sophia station at the top of the mountain at an elevation of 10,551 feet above sea level. It's the only free transportation of it's kind and links Telluride to the town of Mountain Village.

From the Imogene Pass Summit, 13,114 Feet

Imogene Pass is the other Jeep trail leading into Telluride. It is a shortcut from Ouray to Telluride that takes 2 1/2 hours and is the second highest pass in the US. The only vehicular pass higher than Imogene is Mosquito Pass in the Leadville, Colorado area.

Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls, just east of Telluride, the highest cascade waterfall in Colorado with water falling 365 feet. The hydroelectric power plant at the top of the falls was built in the early 1900's to provide electricity to mining operations in the mountains above Telluride. The building is now registered as a National Historic Landmark, but is on private property.
